The White Lion is a traditional hotel opposite Aldeburgh's shingle beach where wooden huts line the shore. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood free Wi-Fi and some of the rooms have far-reaching sea views. The privately owned hotel offers excellent service and menus made from fresh Suffolk produce. You can dine in the informal beach-facing bar with its real ales or the oak-paneled restaurant. With its warm atmosphere and good food The White Lion is a wonderful seaside hideaway. A variety of walking trails surround the area and Snape Maltings Concert Hall is a 10-minute drive away. Tennis at the Country Club and golf on the established James Braid course can be arranged at nearby Thorpeness. There is also space for free parking on site.

Many good let down by...

Liked: Breakfast excellent service excellent
Disliked: Window in our room needed a lot of attention they did not shut properly and required new frames

Liked: Wonderful location Comfortable rooms with good amenities Free parking Welcoming friendly staff Very good breakfast Sea Spice Restaurant on site is really extremely good Indian food.
Disliked: The prices have gone through the roof , the mark up on a sea view room is high even though the hotel wasn’t full.

Liked: Location, comfortable and very helpful staff.
Disliked: Room was very comfortable but a long way from the reception etc., considering very few people around would have been considerate to up grade to nearer room.Long walk many stairs and carry case and bags.Nice breakfast but sausage could be s lot better.

Liked: Breakfast was over cooked or cooked an hour before service. Not nice at all . Full English.
Disliked: Cannot believe there was no catch of the day at 7.30pm as run out . There are at least three to four fresh fish cabins on the beach less than 50 yrds from hotel
