Hotel Description
The White Lion is a traditional hotel opposite Aldeburgh's shingle beach where wooden huts line the shore. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood free Wi-Fi and some of the rooms have far-reaching sea views. The privately owned hotel offers excellent service and menus made from fresh Suffolk produce. You can dine in the informal beach-facing bar with its real ales or the oak-paneled restaurant. With its warm atmosphere and good food The White Lion is a wonderful seaside hideaway. A variety of walking trails surround the area and Snape Maltings Concert Hall is a 10-minute drive away. Tennis at the Country Club and golf on the established James Braid course can be arranged at nearby Thorpeness. There is also space for free parking on site.

Always enjoyed our stays at...

Liked: Location great and breakfast was excellent lovely service and food was very good .
Disliked: Little noisy some banging from below but didn't spoil our stay.

Liked: Dinner was very good and so was breakfast
Disliked: The shower in room 33 did not work. Water pressure was too low in shower and toilet. I mentioned this to staff when I checked out

Short relaxing winter break.

Liked: The hotel is in a lovely location, good sea views and lovely walks from the hotel.
Disliked: The furnishings are very dated and very worn in certain areas but the hotel has an “oldy worldy” feel about it. The staff were mostly friendly but a few smiles wouldn’t go amiss . The Brasserie was good and had a good evening menu.
