Noisy but perfect.

Liked: Perfect if you need to catch a train. Also we could walk to the west end easily. Being so close to a train station can be noisy, all night :-)

Hotel with great Location well...

Liked: Location is excellent. Its a busy bar with a decent choice. Breakfast was nicely varied and ths staff very helpful
Disliked: Our room was quite dark which is just a personal issue of mine. Stairs very steep!

Overpriced at nearly £200 for...

Disliked: Run down in places It’s a pub firstly so trying to check in you get ignored as the staff are serving drinks and nobody is looking out for people staying.

Location Bonus

Liked: Ideal location for the purpose of my trip. Situated directly across from Waterloo Station and a 5 minute walk from London Festival Concert Hall. Room was very small with the bed overlapping access to the shower room. No information in the room, to let you know meal times, etc Bonus was an amazing breakfast and unexpected discount of 15% on all other food and drinks purchased on site, by showing the room card. Room was clean and fresh. Book in at the bar in the pub and access room through secure door from the pub.

Liked: The corridors could do with a tidy up, it’s a bit shabby but clean and comfortable. Location and staff brilliant. Breakfast superb.

Liked: Room was clean and spacious enough. Great shower and great breakfast choice.
Disliked: The sink was far too small and had a glass shelf directly above which made it difficult to wash and clean teeth - strangely, the space was there to put in a bigger sink!

Bad

Disliked: You pay for the location - and that's about it. It is an old building so some things can't be helped i.e no lift, train noise, but may be something to keep in mind when booking. What can be helped is the cleanliness and attitude of staff. Dust everywhere in room and previous occupant's hairs in both the bedroom and shower. Place felt very grimy. Reported it to the housekeeper who seemed to take it on board. Didn't bother with the reception/bar staff as they looked ready to be rid of me. The rooms are up a stairwell off the main pub, so it was a little difficult getting through the punters on a Saturday night with cases. If you leave your case with the staff, they'll just toss it behind the bar or in a cupboard without taking a name. In all it's a shame such a charming little place was let down by lack of care and hospitality.
