Good

Liked: Carpets and walls need a stain clean. Secondary glazing wouldn't go amiss as the hotel is wonderfully located on the A38, one of the major roads of Birmingham. It was exactly as stated a budget hotel with a fabulous location and friendly staff.

Exceptional

Tried it, but never again....

Liked: The location was fine, but the room was basically a box room you couldn't swing a cat in. There was nowhere to put anything, so I just left everything in my case. The toilet and shower were cramped, and larger people would struggle in such a small space. The stairs up to the room were very steep and hadn't been swept in ages. The breakfast was OK, but I'm not a fan of continental breakfast.
Disliked: Everything apart from the location.

Better than expected

Liked: Continental breakfast was basic but topped up.Family room on the main road but earplugs supplied and appeared to work.
Disliked: Found a dirty towel but we had plenty.One of the doubles just had a sheet on the bed, no protective cover.

Superb

Liked: Clean room, comfy bed, excellent staff, good breakfast. Could have done with a couple of shelves or a bedside unit in the room. Room was small but fine for one night.

Liked: Location good. Bed comfy. Breakfast good.Window didn’t stay open, small single room, shower and sink very slow draining. Wonky shelves.

My stay in Birmingham was...

Liked: The breakfast was wonderful but I was compelled to leave the hotel after one night stay due to the bad quality of the bed. I advise the manager to change the mattress for me but unfortunately they said they had no spare mattress. As a result, I was compelled to leave and find another hotel for the rest of my stay in Birmingham.
Disliked: I liked the toilets. It was wonderfulI also liked the breakfast.

Disliked: Bit noisy with people banging doors early in the morning but it's a city hotel and they provide earplugs!
