We stayed for 2 nights while we explored the city and went to see Rising Appalachia featuring Arouna Diarra at Rumba Cafe that is only 2 blocks away from the hostel.
Liked: We loved the whole experience. It was new for us.

A "Youth Hostel" not run...
Liked: location
Disliked: This "Youth Hostel" is not managed as a communal shared space as the youth hostels Ive been at are. In fact this place is run more like an air bnb with management completely absent. The first night Dec 20th with below freezing temps my room was unheated and one very thin blanket with a sheet was all that was provided. Management did not answer the phone # in the email. and a fellow travelor provided me with an electric heater and xtra blanket. At 430am Dec 21st very loud noises from all over and inside the house woke me up. Again management was missing. Early morning Dec 22nd at 530am the second night the television/stereo was turned quite loudly to be heard all over the house and again did not allow me to sleep. This is not a AYH youth hostel in any sense of the word. Also the room did not match the photos on booking.com. Attached are photos of the actual room.

I’ve never stayed at a...
Disliked: I definitely got value for the cost. The staff is impeccable. There is a manager on call all the time so if there is a question or a need, he quickly responds. Unbelievably it is so nice and quiet! Their Bedding, especially their pillows are top notch. I would recommend to any other traveler or someone that is afraid to try a hostile as this is my first time. Great first time experience that is for sure. And it’s nice to meet people from different cultures.

Liked: I liked that it was close to the venue I was going too
Disliked: It was 100 degrees for no reason. Like literally too hot it made my friend physically ill. We had to open a window because it was so hot. Uncomfortable can't even sleep hot on top of no staff and some dude coughing up like he was dying all night. Breakfast wasn't really clearly labeled. I even called and requested a temperature change and nothing was done.
