Stylish and comfortable hotel

Liked: The location is fantastic, to be right next to the river was really lovely. The staff were really friendly.
Disliked: On arrival check in was fine but there was a slight communication issue. We got our key and went to our room. At first glance our room looked clean, it was freezing cold, but what a view. Within 5 minutes house keeping burst through the door and was surprised to see us, apologised and closed the door again. Panic went through our heads, did they not check our room?? On further inspection we found dirty mugs, no biscuits and no toilet paper. Some of which was sorted by the time we returned from dinner. The bed was very firm and you could feel the springs The next morning we woke to find no hot water!! Which was sorted by the time we returned in the evening. Number 1 out of 2 morning breakfasts was extremely disappointing we opted both days for full English as the continental breakfast is very minimal for the price we paid for the room. A selection of 4 cereals, tinned fruit, no fresh fruits, 2 different pastries and chocolate muffins and toast. They certainly have enough marmalade to provide for Paddington bear but noone else who would prefer a different flavoured jam. The first morning all we received was 1 sausage, 2 rashes of bacon, the smallest fried egg, 1/2 a tomato, a small portion of beans and mushrooms, on a very large plate! We were thrilled on the second morning to receive double that and it actuallyfilledthe whole plate! Let's talk price we booked in advance of our stay but when it came to the day of our stay the price advertised on booking.com was half of which we paid!! Coupled with the above disappointments left a sour taste in our mouths. Even checkout wasn't smooth and I had to ask to receive a receipt.

Unsatisfactory
Liked: Booked to include breakfast. Told when we booked in that the restaurant and bar were closed and NO breakfast. I would not have booked it if I had known. I also was changed the rate to include breakfast. Extremely unhappy and would never go there again. S

Great short stay that exceeded...
Liked: It was a great short stay and I have to say that Shawn was great at listening to my room preferences and even booked me into a room that better suited these preferences albeit I made the booking mistake. Thank you Shawn and the rest of the hotel staff for meeting customer expectations and upholding great standards.
