Ok for the location and...

Liked: Staff was pleasant and put real effort. Location very good and in proximity to many landmarks. Building is nice with period features and some elegance from a different era. Breakfast staff and breakfast small but good and practical. No too many choices but staff kind and helpful
Disliked: The covers on the bed very dirty and spoiled the first impression of the room. The parking is an issue and could have been handled better. Paid for the night and then was told to move it by 11 which has spoiled the time planned to walk at the park and go for lunch. Room looked that a slash of paint was put to them but need some further detailing and TLC

Completely Fine

Liked: I booked this for a uni visit with my daughters and was a bit worried by some of the reviews but I needn't have been. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Car parking is expensive on the streets around if there is no space in the Washington car park. Around £10 for three hours from 9am to 9pm.
Disliked: The bathroom was old fashioned with separate hot and cold taps and no mixer tap. Shower above bath and hard to get the temperature right.

Good budget hotel in Clifton...

Liked: The Washington is a good budget hotel in Clifton near Whiteladies Road with lots of bus routes into town. I use it for work about 1-2 days a week as it is usually one of the cheapest and has breakfast included. The staff are all young people (usually studies) and very friendly and helpful. I am only usually there late in evening to early morning so really only use it for a bed and breakfast. The beds are ok (not modern) and I get a good nights sleep. The hotel is a bit dated but I like it. I have used it for about 5 years now and have no complaints.
Disliked: Beds could be more comfortable.
