Liked: The pool and the breakfast. Everyone was very hospitable
Disliked: It is very loud throughout. If you are wanting to sleep it is hard because the restaurant music is loud all the way till midnight

Fabulous property and location if...

Liked: If you are staying here, you are staying because of the history of the property and we knew that. It is a house, not a hotel, but is priced as a premium hotel. The property itself is breath taking, as you'd expect from the fact it was largely built / restored by Gianni Versace himself.Fantastic location, right on South Beach.Rooms were spectacular, as was the rest of the hotel, again from a property perspective.Dinner was excellent, great service and food.
Disliked: However the operation itself leaves a LOT to be desired, see below :- The staff were average, mostly polite but not attentive at all, other than the guy we had serving us at dinner.- Breakfast was a joke really, one guy doing everything himself, poor choice of food for this kind of nightly rate. EG : One juice only, ( orange, ) the "fruit platter" was just bits of chopped up melon and pineapple. Coffee was awful.- Cleanliness / standards in some public areas were poor.- The arrangements when it is raining are interesting. Basically it rains inside due to the architecture, which is in some ways understandable, but equally could be better. The main lobby is flooded quickly with an inch of water and when we were having dinner, there was water streaming all around us from various roof covers / umbrellas.

Cool to see the Legacy...

Liked: The history & heritage of the property is all this hotel has going for it. If you are a Versace fan like I am worth it for the experience for a night
Disliked: It does not feel like a 5 star hotel experience. The hotel seems to prioritise diners rather than hotel guests. Only a short window to use the pool in - while people are eating in the restaurant & asking you to move out of their photo as they pose side of pool. The food was bad. Does not feel like a luxury experience but it was fun to see the hotel & stay for a night. Would not go back there are much better, cooler crowd & more premium hotels in Miami. This hotel needs to update its service standard
