In the heart of the picturesque market town of Peebles The Tontine is a family-run property which provides home-baked sweets and shortbread and elegant rooms. The Georgian Adam Room restaurant enjoys hill views and serves a weekly changing menu. With warm classic décor rooms at The Tontine all offer an en suite TV and a hairdryer. Guests can relax with free tea and coffee and a TV in the room. Some rooms boast lovely views of the River Tweed. The Adam Room Restaurant features beautiful views a Georgian minstrel's gallery chandelier and fireplace. It offers an à la carte menu while the modern bistro provides relaxed informal dining. Classic cocktails are served in the hotel bar. For active guests the famous Glentress Mountain Biking Center is just 3 miles away and excellent walking and cycling trails can be enjoyed from outside the hotel. Exceptional

Liked: Central location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, good food and drink selection and beautifully decorated for the festive season. Close to several good eateries, I highly recommend a stay.
Disliked: Nothing.

An excellent, comfortable stay in...

Liked: The staff were excellent, especially the younger ones who worked hard, and were always prepared to go the extra mile.The comfortable and warm LoungeThe brilliant shower in my bedroomThe friendliness of the staff
Disliked: I did not like the large, formal dining room. It was too dark and too old fashioned. The alternative 'Bistro' was much pleasanter.

A cosy little getaway that...

Liked: Beautiful room in main part of hotel with a lovely view out to the hills and main street. The food was excellent - we had dinner and breakfast. Great value. Friendly reception and waiting staff.
Disliked: The public stairs and landings in main hotel are a bit tired and could do with updating.

Liked: Superb lounge, very comfortable, breakfast was excellent and the staff were great,
Disliked: No lift for top floor, a lot of stairs, especially with suitcases
