Liked: A hotel is only as good as the staff...Consequently, this place was like a big friendly hug.An other good sign of customer focus...All the meals were more than adequate and yummy!
Disliked: Lack of arm chairs or some sort of seating in the room.

Cute room with good food

Liked: It’s a lovely building, the room was clean and really homely. It was fully stocked with everything you’d need for your stay. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food in the pub was delicious, 10/10 would recommend :)
Disliked: My only complain would be that the body wash for when you were in the shower was in the other side of the shower door so water got everywhere when you needed to use it but it’s not a massive deal that :)

Exceptional

Liked: We were greeted like family, offered a choice of rooms. Bikes were stored safely. The room was excellent, clean, and comfortable. The food was excellent. We couldn't stay for breakfast, and so we were given a complimentary breakfast box. Sam, the manager, was really friendly and welcoming.

Just what we needed

Liked: The aesthetics of the room were lovely. A very homely vibe and very comfortable. We were running abit late for the 9 o’clock check in and the woman who dealt with us was great and stayed until we got there to show us to our room. So a very big thank you to her 10/10 service!
Disliked: All in all I wouldn’t say there is anything we didn’t like. The place is perfectly described and is exactly what it says it is, the price is perfect and I wouldn’t ask for anything different from it. If there was something bad we wouldn’t stay there, simple.

Superb

Nice staff, but needing more...

Liked: The staff were friendly, helpful, and chatty. The manager even offered to assist us with New Years transport if we were stuck. She also allowed us to change rooms as we didn't want to be on the busy A6.The bedroom room 1 was quite cosy with nice lighting, and the views were pleasant when sat in bed. The homecooked food was nice, especially the chunky chips and veg.
Disliked: The place feels like it has potential but is being let down in a few areas.We had no bath towels, cups, no toilet roll, and we always had to ask for cutlery. No hot water from the sink and poor shower pressure. TV a complete nightmare with signal constantly being lostWhat was advertised on the menu wasn't what we got, including a pie that had mushroom and not ham and a lemon tart with raspberry sorbet instead of vanilla ice cream. We did mention these things to the manager. However, nothing was offered as a solution. She was too nice, however, for us to say much more.Breakfast was 1030 start which was agreed upon the day before. It was 1028 before anybody appeared to let us enter to take a seat. The floors were a mess, food was out from the night before.and the toilets had not been cleaned. Fair enough, it was New Year, but at least give yourself 30 mins to sort the place out. We also had to ask for cutlery yet again.We don't complain, we give honest feedback. The place is really nice and has a lot of potential. It just needs to be tidied up around the edges to be really good.
