Pleasant

Liked: The room looked like it has been modernised. Very clean, crispy white bedding, lots of pillows and towels. The shower was a massive disappointment as it was a trickle of water, early in the morning, there was no staff to help. The hotel is above the pub, so far expected, what we didn't expect was karaoke until 11pm so the noise made it really hard for my family to sleep. The car park had enough space and we parked without issues. Bring ear plugs if coming here.Definitely 3 stars hotel and no way 4 stars.

Very sad and disappointed this...

Liked: The breakfast was fine The staff all 2 of them were good especially GeorgeRoom was basic no wardrobes or drawersWe eat in the restaurant one night but not again as it’s not a hotel restaurant as you would expect but an Indian restaurant Not acceptable when you are 79 and 81 and don’t want to walk out at night
Disliked: This is not a hotel it is a pub with roomsWe didn’t have our room serviced at all we had to ask for clean towels and toilet rollsIf it wasn’t for the fact we paid on arrival we would not have stayed it was a noisy pub with undesirables til all hours. Room was noisy and tele didn’t work properly. The whole break was a disaster for us

Took one look and left.

Liked: Wow. Not at all like the pictures - they only show the rooms don’t they?. Arrived to a scrap yard car park. Walked into “reception” which was in a grubby, broken bar area with broken tiles & drunks at 3pm!!! It stank. I felt so unsafe. It was noisy and miserable. None of this part - the entrance and bar - was shown in any of the photos. There was no way I was coming back to that after dark. It was dirty and I felt very unsafe even in the day. I was just hoping I’d got the wrong location but sadly this was it. No wonder it was pay up front non refundable. Despite that, I turned and left. No way I was staying there.

Adequate hotel in centre of...

Liked: Pleasant, spacious and quiet bedroom. Free convenient on-site parking.
Disliked: Little breakfast choice despite £10 price and service somewhat haphazard. No chair or desk in bedroom.

Not great at all not...

Liked: The pub down stairs
Disliked: There was staining on the bedding, the carpet quite clearly hadn’t been hoovered and the shower barely worked. You could hear every bit of noise from other rooms. Rooms looked very bleak did not justify the £90 price tag at all.

An adequate hotel in Hythe,...

Liked: The staff were generally helpful, and had some local information. They were not the easiest to understand. The room was on the first floor, and there are no lifts. I was assisted with my suitcase on arrival, by a helpful person also manning the bar. When I went to check out at around 10am after staying two nights, the whole of the ground floor was locked up apart from the external door leading to the small car park outside. The bar looked reasonably lively with quite a few customers in the evenings. I have no idea if the restaurant was open. The room was adequate, and everything worked. There were only 3 clothes hangers, which was inadequate, and I was a single more elderly guy staying alone in a double room, visiting friends in the area. There was a nice bath in the room with a shower over, and a non slip bathmat was available. Reasonably priced.
Disliked: I stayed for two nights, and I hung the sign up saying 'please make up room' or similar. The room was not made up. I was tired, and so did not go downstairs to ask that it be attended to. The supplies of complimentary teas and coffees was adequate for two days. The bins were not emptied, and so not very hygienic. No staff available to assist guests needing assistance on departure, which I had mentioned when booking, I think. The car park had space for about 6 vehicles, and in the summer season this would be woefully inadequate. Hythe is not a parking friendly area. The room was sparsely furnished, with no luggage rack, and only one chair for a double room. There were no grab rails around the bath and shower area, and hence a safety hazard. It was an old building, with lots of odd steps, and uneven surfaces, not really suited for the more elderly.
