Liked: Right in the centre
Disliked: I swapped rooms with a friend, as I didn't think it was safe for her - there were 3 steps from bathroom to bedroom.In the room I slept in (23, I think) there was a smell of stale tobacco. The staff were a bit surly - at reception ignored for a couple of minutes, then quite aggressive in telling us to decide breakfast time.

Hotel was nice but expensive...

Liked: Location was good, parking was good in the city centre
Disliked: Over priced for what it was. Room security was questionable. The only place to hang clothes was in the ironing board cupboard, that's not acceptable for an expensive hotel.

Nice rooms, brilliant location.

Liked: Brilliant location. Nicely appointed buildings, but a little bit of a rabbit warren.
Disliked: No lifts, bedrooms were quite a walk from the hotel building. Car park was small and very difficult to manoeuvre. we didn’t like having to book a time slot for breakfast. Breakfast itself was not very good.

Super staff, nice room, and...

Liked: Great check in with a very nice and welcoming gentleman on reception. He was professional and friendly, and also checked us out in the morning. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable, as was our en-suite bathroom. We had a drink in the bar and the young lady on duty was very nice. Location perfect, right in the centre of Wells, and we appreciated the free on site parking as I had hurt my foot and couldn't walk far. We live locally so we do visit Wells often, but this was the first time we stayed overnight. We had been to a wine tasting so thought it would be nice to extend our social visit. We would definitely book again, as it didn't cost much more than a return taxi to our house about 20 minutes away!
Disliked: The only thing was that there was a vent, aircon or something outside our room (in the driveway to the car park) which kept starting up and making quite a loud noise. It woke us up regularly throughout the night so we didn't sleep very well.
