Liked: Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, excellent location across street from Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Good restaurant.
Disliked: Refrigerator is not included with room (available for $15 upcharge).

Great but With Reservations

Liked: This is a great option close to Johns Hopkins. The hotel is minimalist in decor but has an incredibly comfortable common space with an extensive library of art and design books. Room was comfortable but again minimalist eg no hooks for towels in the bathroom.
Disliked: The restaurant was closed on Christmas and didn't open until lunch the day after. This left all guest in the lurch for both days for breakfast. It would have been better to serve breakfast on Christmas and closed at noon, and then reopened fully next day. Had that happened my rating would be 9 out 10. Bad decision by management..

New, luxurious property; nicest hotel...

Liked: The Study is a luxurious property and certainly the nicest hotel in the area. Rates were very reasonable also. The rooms are a standard size, nothing too big but new and clean. Our family of 4 enjoyed our 2 nights here. On-site restaurant is convenient but we didn’t eat there because there’s lots of restaurants and coffee shops within 1-2 blocks. While Baltimore can be a rougher city generally, there are security guards everywhere around the JH campus. Young students are walking around everywhere so you generally don’t feel like there’s any safety issues.
Disliked: Suite room layouts that can accommodate for family of 4 (3 beds) would be amazing.
