Hotel Description
The Star and Garter is set in the heart of the market town of Andover. The hotel dates back to the 1700s and offers a hot and cold buffet breakfast and free WiFi. The hotel maintains its Georgian façade and rooms are set in the former stables and coach house encircling the courtyard as well as over two floors in the main building. Each room has private bathroom facilities with a power shower bath and complimentary toiletries. There is a flat-screen TV hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities in all rooms. There are alcoholic beverages and soft drinks available which can be enjoyed in our enclosed courtyard. This Hampshire town lies around 20 miles north of the beautiful New Forest National Park. Newbury Basingstoke and the pretty cathedral city of Salisbury and Winchester can all be reached within 30 minutes' drive. Stonehenge is within a 20-minute drive. Free parking is provided at the rear of the hotel.

Will stay again if in...

Liked: Secure parking and central , nice welcome from receptionist! Good shower too
Disliked: Little bit of noise from the street outside early hours but not the hotels fault !

Good value for money, but...

Liked: Very good value for money, and did the job!
Disliked: The mattress was uncomfortable and had a massive dip in it

Clean, it clearly a budget...

Liked: Bed was uncomfortable - very hard mattress, only one pillow each (needed to go to reception to get additional pillows), only one towel each, very unpredictable shower which we could not get to remain at a constant temperature.
