Hotel Description
The Star and Garter is set in the heart of the market town of Andover. The hotel dates back to the 1700s and offers a hot and cold buffet breakfast and free WiFi. The hotel maintains its Georgian façade and rooms are set in the former stables and coach house encircling the courtyard as well as over two floors in the main building. Each room has private bathroom facilities with a power shower bath and complimentary toiletries. There is a flat-screen TV hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities in all rooms. There are alcoholic beverages and soft drinks available which can be enjoyed in our enclosed courtyard. This Hampshire town lies around 20 miles north of the beautiful New Forest National Park. Newbury Basingstoke and the pretty cathedral city of Salisbury and Winchester can all be reached within 30 minutes' drive. Stonehenge is within a 20-minute drive. Free parking is provided at the rear of the hotel.

Disliked: Shower.. one minute red hot next freezing.But for the price and location and getting to spend 5 days with my daughter.. worth every penny.Hope all staff have a great Xmas and I'll see you in 2025

Comfy bed and delicious breakfast!...

Liked: My sister and I stayed in a ground floor accessible room as she has mobility issues and needs a wheeled walker to get about. When we arrived the lovely lady on reception came to show us to our room and fitted an extra grab rail in the bathroom. Very thoughtful. Comfy beds and plenty of hot water for baths or showers.Tea/coffee making facilities with nice biscuits and bottled water. A hairdryer and iron/ironing board all in the room, toiletries too.The breakfast was delicious - hot cooked food, pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, tea, coffee and juice all on offer. We really enjoyed that and were not made to feel rushed at all.Free parking too - such a bonus!
