A nice place for a...

Liked: The location is attractive with plenty of outdoor seating by the river. No fault of The Stag, but it is not possible to walk by the river from the Stag. It is an pld and quirky place but has all mod cons. Breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: We ate on the sunday evening and although dinner was served until 7pm the main course could have been better. Desert very good however

Best of British - great...

Liked: Arrived late, but they couldn’t have been friendlier. Lovely setting and bedroom really comfortable. Ideal spot for a quick stop over.
Disliked: Noise travels between rooms - bring ear plugs!!

Relaxing and comfortable stay in...

Liked: Great food! Plentiful breakfast, very good dinner menu. Nice character in the rooms with all facilities required. Staff very friendly.

Liked: Staff very good, food ok.
Disliked: The windows frames were rotten in places and no way to actually close the window properly. Room a bit on the small side.

Fantastic

Liked: Food, both dinner and breakfast excellent. The Stag uses local ingredients, and it was the best full English I have ever had. The sourdough toast was fantastic.The room was spacious, but as expected in a 17th Century building, a bit wonky. All the staff we met were very helpful, and nothing too much trouble. Would happily stay again.
