Restorative restart for a city...

Liked: I loved the location which made it easy to get to the places I wanted to visit: Waverley Abbey Trust and Watts Artist Village (Compton). The food was great, they do have big portions and the breakfast really gets you ready for the day. It's so wonderful to eat real 'eggy eggs'! Sounds strange but they are delicious. The room for a single traveller was quaint, and I liked the eco friendly botanical products in the room.
Disliked: Bed was a bit too soft for me but that's just a personal preference, also there was a humming machinery noise which seemed to be constant, wasn't too loud and annoying to stop me from sleeping. Just a mild irritation to an otherwise perfect stay.

Weekend away

Liked: Room decor, attention to detail for coffee maker, etc. Pristine bathroom. Some staff were friendly.No traffic noise at night.
Disliked: Car parking in the dark on a busy pub Friday night in the rain.Pretentious dinner menu, with huge prices for small portions, although nicely presented.Noisy room over the kitchen.Lack of availability of advertised gluten-free choices for breakfast. Small 'full English' breakfast - one rasher of streaky bacon - really?Guests grumbling collectively about prices and stingy portions - not what you want on a weekend treat away.
