Liked: We had a courtyard room, which was clean and comfortable with everything you needed..but quite small if you were staying for more than a couple of nights. We had a couple of issues with the fine dining restaurant, but it was their first night of reopening same..and all problems were resolved by the maitre d, which was sincerely appreciated. We attended a family funeral wake, which was absolutely excellent, well organised and lovely food.Special thanks go the lovely lady receptionist, sorry can't remember her name ...who was so kind and helpful, 5

Wonderful building in the Forest...

Liked: We had a lovely two nights stay at The Speech House, wonderful old building in the Forest of Dean, with beautiful walks all around, our attic room was everything I expected, good size bed furnished well, wonderful bathroom. We ate at the restaurant, food was exceptional, breakfast was great too lAll the staff were very friendly, would love to stay again, and would definitely recommend.

THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR QUALITY...

Liked: ALL OF MY REQUESTS WERE MET IMMEDIATELY (GROUND ROOM, AWAY FROM TRAFFIC NOISE).THE LOCATION WAS MAGICAL; SO CONVENIENT. STAFF WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL AT ALL TIMES. THE MEALS WERE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND EXCELLENT VALUE.

An oasis in the woods.

Liked: A historic old building at the centre of the forrest. The staff are superb, trained, friendly, informative. The food is of the highest quality, varied with local connections.
Disliked: It is an old, old building so has a few areas that reflect its age.
