Disliked: We did not have heat in our room. It took two hours for temp to get up to 70. Before guest arrive maybe make sure room is warm.

Liked: This is the second time this year we have stayed at a motel instead of a hotel while traveling in Michigan. Both experiences have been very positive. The interaction with the owners was positive before during and after the stay. The design and décor updates were fun and bright and added character. We spoke with the owners in advance through booking.com's very effective messaging, and then later directly by text. They were ready willing and able to provide us with a room on the first level and directly adjoining a wheelchair space. This was wonderful as our younger son has special needs and disabilities. Being able to park right in front of our room in the wheelchair spot was a dream! The fun of being on a quick get away without any of the access issues we often have to navigate was a big bright spot. Thanks very much!

Liked: It's so cute! They clearly take pride in their renovated mid-century property and they've done an amazing job! Everything is super clean and all the fixtures are new. I love that the floors are -surface (not carpet) and the cedar ceilings make it feel cozy, since they're not white it helps you settle into sleep. Plus: The bathrooms have exhaust fans!! Essential when you're traveling with multiple people in one room 😉
Disliked: Our only gripe was that the new mattresses are really really really firm--support is great, but maybe some nice, soft mattress pads could enhance the comfort? Our door didn't latch really great so we had to triple check that it locked when we were leaving.
