Disappointing and subpar

Liked: Location and comfort of the beds. Did have to ask for extra pillows. Two pillows on a bed is not enough. Did like the wax seal in the toilet paper…that was cute.
Disliked: Check in was at 4pm. We arrived around 3pm and was told the room was not ready. They said they would text us when it was ready. We waited in the lobby for a little while, since it was pouring rain and walking the area was not that great of an idea. We saw multiple customers check in and get their keys with no hesitation. We then went to get our car that was parked elsewhere to bring it to valet parking. We got out, unloaded the car and brought in the luggage. It is now 4pm, still no text telling us the room is ready. My husband goes to the check in desk and is told it would be five more minutes, housekeeping was not finished. Multiple times he was told five more minutes. While this is happening my granddaughter and myself are just hanging out by the elevator with our luggage. Finally at 4:45 we get a key. We were told no availability for dinner and they suggested a couple of places, one of them being Walk Ons. Food was horrible. Later that night as we are watching tv in the room an alarm is going off in the conjoining room. Called downstairs and they promptly came up and turned it off. About 30 mins later it started again. I called the front desk. Soon after I got a call from a woman saying she was in the room and there was no sound. It had since stopped and I figured they turned it off. Anyway, she was snarky. Next morning we headed down for coffee and I got breakfast. I ordered the steel cut oatmeal with berries and bananas. The bananas were black. I took it back to the counter and told them that I didn’t eat black bananas and just walked away, no refund requested. It just seemed par for the course at this hotel. Paying over $400 for one nights stay, to receive the experience of a two star hotel was very disappointing. I will be sharing my experience on every platform that I available.
