Superb

Liked: We have stayed here at least five times in the past, even though it is under new owners the quality of the service that they provide is still just as excellent as in previous stays, the friendliness of the owners and staff are fantastic and would certain recommend staying just for the breakfast.

Fab

Liked: Great friendly welcome and easy check in. A very good breakfast and lots of choice - comfortable room with lots of space and a nice view. Very close to the sea on a lovely street - near restaurants and convenience store/ close to town. Good to have an option for eating in too.
Disliked: The coffee but easy to get one on the beach.

Little Gem

Liked: The decor was great. Was currently being worked on during our stay but didn't impact us at all. We felt really welcomed by the staff and CK the dog. Kids especially loved CK.Breakfast was nice and in an interesting room which kept kids entertained. Also outside our family room was board games and toys for the children to play with.
Disliked: N/A

Lovely property with excellent breakfast....

Liked: Central location with parking. Lovely comfy bed. Good breakfast.
Disliked: Shower was very small and quite difficult to get out of.

Liked: The staff were very friendly. Our room was very comfy and warm in a cold winter day. It was very clean. We liked the high ceilings as well. The paintings on the dinner room ceiling was amazing and unique. Breakfast was also really tasty.

Enjoyed our stay over the...

Liked: The Sheldon was very convenient to get to the seafront, the theatre and the centre of Eastbourne, as well as the beautiful Sussex downs, everything was within easy walking distance.The staff were friendly, the room we had was spacious and comfortable, and it was useful to have a lift to the ground floor. My partner loved the decor especially the ceiling in the breakfast room and the paintings and prints throughout the hotel gave a nice quirky ambience, some of the paintings were very good.
Disliked: The car park was very convenient but driving in and out was so narrow that I scratched my car. We had a bath in our bathroom, which I had requested but it took 40 mins to run as the water pressure was very low, so a bit inconvenient but a nice bathroom.Making tea in the bedroom was unusual in as much as the kettle and teas were situated away from the plug, which was on the floor a few feet away. It wouldn't have taken much imagination to have moved the small cabinet and tray next to the plug and perhaps an extension lead. Plugging a kettle full of water, on the floor next to the plug, is not a good idea.On arrival there was no clear indication on how to get into the property, so we were a bit perplexed as we could see an empty reception desk and were greeted by a barking dog the other side of the door. A better impression would have been to have had a welcome notice on or near the door, stating please ring bell for reception, signifying where the bell was. I understand that we were early, but I think as a paying guest allowances need to be made for a shift in arrangements, as we were expected to do, having been explained, when we got in the door, that the landord's family and friends were staying over the Xmas period. Lastly, the bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard, but that is just my personal experience. On the other hand, my partner as usual, thought everything was lovely.

Liked: We received a warm welcome and we’re shown around the facilities on the ground floor.The location was where we wanted to be, provided off street parking and was in a quiet area as advertised.The bed was comfortable and a warm duvet was provided.
Disliked: Our room was tired and very dated.The shower was a nightmare. The water temperature fluctuated between boiling hot and cold. The water disappeared completely at one point, presumably when another room was using water…..not an ideal way to start your day.

Very good
