Liked: Review written in the name of my colleagues, who absolutely loved everything about this cozy, nicely designed and friendly hotel, with great breakfast and nice (but small) rooms, placed in the heart of Richmond.
Disliked: Nothing to speak of, all was good - just a bit of a wait for the invoice at check out to be correctly issued but these things happen.

An excellent hotel if you...

Liked: The hotel is beautiful and well placed in the center of Richmond, nicely furnished and everything seems very new. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Breakfast was tasty (and so was the coffee). Rooms are tiny (please be aware) - I am deliberately putting this information in the "positives" section, as it's just what they are and that can't be changed, so just be aware that they are. The bed was comfy though and the courtyard/garden facing rooms are extremely quiet.
Disliked: The air conditioning is noisy and the controls require a PHD in electronics to operate (wasn't able to turn it off, which I wanted to do, as i prefer to sleep with the window open and no aircon). I had also the bad luck of someone having set the radio alarm clock to 6:30 am, this was later fixed by the staff... but still annoying as on day 1 it kept turning the radio on every 8 minutes from 6:30 onwards, and half asleep all I could do is locate the snooze button). Even though fixed - I have subsequently unplugged it from the wall on the second night for good measure. Lastly - on the first day I stayed in my room until noon, and then weirdly, when I came back I only found it "half serviced" - so the towels were changed and the throw pillows put away into the wardrobe, but... the bed was still unmade... which I found strange. Lastly I wouldn't mind something "fresh" for breakfast like more veggie choives - tomatoes, a salad maybe to start with? I know this is not the way the British do things, but basically all the food choices were in various shades of brown, orange and yellow. Excellent taste, but nothing to brake the monotony and richness of the dishes served a la carte & at the buffet.

Liked: New, clean, fresh stunning renovation. Lovely beds and bathrooms. Staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful and very attentive. Reception and breakfast staff were amazing.
Disliked: Some rooms noisier due to road but not unbearable, didn’t affect our sleep.

Liked: Attractive well equipped and maintained hotel. Comfortable bed, great shower. Perfect location for downtown Richmond and very close to train station.
Disliked: I was in a deluxe double as a single traveller and found it cramped for me. The space between the end of the bed and the table was tight. Had to move the chair to get to the tea/coffee items. Hardly any place to put clothes. I certainly wouldn’t call it a deluxe double. Based on this I feel the rooms are overpriced.

Everything else was very nice...

Liked: Staff were very friendly and efficient. Everything about the facilities is very nicely appointed and well presented
Disliked: The room was too small! For two people and two suitcases we found it too crowded. There was virtually no place to spread out ! For the cost, we felt we should have had more space.
