Enjoyed our stay despite minor...

Liked: The room was comfortable, it was facing the busy street but it wasn’t too loud. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We very much enjoyed getting to know the city and some of the landmarks were within walking distance. I enjoyed the historical nature of the inn although I think our room could be decorated in a warmer manner to reflect its beauty and historical nature. Breakfast was good, the homemade granola delicious.
Disliked: We didn’t appreciate that the common space in the living room was closed for the private party for nearly 3h the night we arrived & that we were charged nearly $35 above the booking price in various fees including cleaning fee? I understand the taxes should be included and I’m OK with the donation to historical society etc but fees should be disclosed in advance, not upon arrival. Also, I hope in the future the room guest is scheduled to stay is warmed up prior to their arrival, not upon it- that made us feel a bit less welcome.
