great spot and value for...
Liked: great spot and value for money, lovely old villa and nice and clean and tidy + kitchen facilities were great
Disliked: Parking was too tight to get my work ute in down the driveway and get around trees and other cars, so had to park on road with lots of tools in the back, and also risk of getting towed (they're not meant to have visitors parking on narrow road outfront) - however if you have a normal car would be fine.

Superb
Liked: A great find for us. Very relaxing in the Spa. Beautiful old mansion. We did not eat the breakfast provided...which was quite adequate. Typical Continental style. Excellent value for a stay.

Poor

unfortunately quite disappointing.
Liked: Looks okay on the surface.
Disliked: The room (superior single room) was the tiniest room I stayed at during my time in NZ. That would still be fine if the room would not have smelled really unpleasant. The rest of the house did not have that smell.Kitchen use was only allowed until 8pm, even if I cannot understand why cooking e.g. pasta after that time would disturb anyone. It says free breakfast and free hot drinks. However no milk is supplied. There was a large jar of Joghurt, almost empty and no idea when it was opened, if people used it with some general hygienic caution of dealing with common food.Lots of rules in the 'welcome' booklet about what would cost 10$ fines, if one would do sth wrong or if one would like to have a heater.Someone was watching TV as I was arriving, telling me I should feel at home, and yelling loudly 'noooo' at their dogs as soon as they were barking. Didn't feel homey.I did not manage to figure out why this place calls itself spa. Didn't feel like it.

Good
Liked: Not having private bathroom. Thought Queen suite meant it had a private bathroom, my mistake
