Edinburgh’s gem!

Liked: A gem in Edinburgh. Location is very good, very close to the cebtre from the Newington area. It is accessible by frequent buses. The rooms are cosy and pleasant. Toiletries are topped up and changed every day as well as coffee/tea facilities. The hotel is spotless! Breakfast is delicious too, you can find anything from toast to cereal to croissants. Staff iare super sweet, they make you feel welcome in an instant. The self check-in procedure is very simple too if you arrive late at night. Thank you Salisbury Hotel! We miss you already and if we ever return to Edinburgh we’ll book you again. Thank you also for going the extra mile for our honeymoon. We appreciate.

Disliked: Shower space needs renovation You are politely but very insistently asked to leave the breakfast room straight after the official finishing time even if you do not require anything but quietly finish what you already have at your table

Disliked: The standard of the room, It is classed as four star but was very scruffy. The decor was dated and dirty. Blue tac on the walls, unpainted area where TV had been replaced, scruffy messages. No towel rail in bathroom but screw holes where one would have been. Laminate peeling off the fittings in the bathroom. Lots of mould around the shower screen. Window shutters didn't work although the message sellotaped to the window told us to use these and not the curtains as they were purely for decoration! Dust on all surfaces. Bedside lamp didn't work. Main light was very dirty.
