I would highly recommend this hotel and would go back for sure. Great location within walking distance of many good restaurants and attractions. Offers onsite parking for no cost.
Liked: Friendly, attentive service; comfy pillow top beds with good pillows; great shower with good water pressure and large shower head. Restaurant staff was great very helpful and attentive.
Disliked: Room A/C didn't seem to cool as good as the hall units but still comfortable temperatures.

Great location & charming hotel
Liked: The Ryder hotel was in a great location, super walkable to all main "attractions" of Charleston. Also loved renting the bikes and riding around the charming neighborhoods. The pool / bar area was really nice to, and we enjoyed getting a drink at the bar and lounging on the daybeds.
Disliked: Our room was pretty dark (not really any natural light at all) but luckily not a major issue since we didn't spend much time in the room. Also one of the days we were there, they were setting up for an event and therefore had to take all the pool area furniture away (which wasn't ideal given there was no notice of that happening).

Prime Location and Relaxing Environment
Liked: The hotel was in a prime location for walking in Charleston, the room was beautiful, and the beds were comfortable. We also enjoyed the adjoining restaurant and coffee shop, as well as the bar and pool area for relaxing in the morning and evenings. The staff were very helpful and tried to accommodate our requests. The rooms were lovely and we enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: We booked a king room and based on the listing photos thought that the room would have a stand-alone bathtub, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel and room style. Our room only had a shower, so the staff was able to move us to a shower/tub room for the next night, but we had really wanted the nice bathtub and had requested that when booking if possible. Parking was overpriced at the hotel - we were able to park in a lot less than a block away for half the price. We also were hoping for a little more resort style amenities in the room such as a robe and slippers, but it was pretty much a standard hotel room offering.

I’ll be back bowl asked...
Liked: Great location beautiful decor
Disliked: The staff was not knowledgeable to where our room was. We walked around for 20 minutes, looking for an elevator to the fourth floor. There was construction in the room right underneath us. We could not sleep when we wanted to take a rest during the day. The hotel was not full and they could’ve put us in a different room, I was disappointed with our room location

Pleasant
Liked: Rooms were clean and updated. Location was great.
Disliked: Very loud bar with music playing until midnight. And both nights there were very loud people yelling in the hallways between 1-3 AM.

Good quality hotel, very trendy...
Liked: Great location, friendly front staff. Was able to get early check in which was huge. Good quality hotel. Very trendy, hip design. King room is very spacious. Nice bar/restaurant and pool is a great feature. Go early to get your lounger. Love that you can sign out bikes, skate boards, coolers, beach chairs, etc. That’s a great amenity! Great coffee shop in front lobby. Also, in check in area, coffee/tea set up in the morning is nice and day of check in there is a free cocktail hour.
Disliked: Absolutely horrible wifi. Barely worked and could barely get onto internet/apps. Had some work to do and had to leave hotel. If going to the pool, you had to walk all around the building to access it when in reality, there was a door directly to the pool very close to the room. But since that door didn’t have a key pad it was always locked. Hotel should install and keypad door to make it convenient on guests. Also, there’s no view from most of the rooms, and the pool, restaurant and lounge is kinda loud until 10pm or so at night. There were also ants in my room.

Pleasant enough, but would not...
Liked: Location is very centrally located and it's easy to get to many popular places in Charleston. The room was adequate, and on par with similarly priced hotels.
Disliked: The hotel is very hard to navigate. Some stairs were closed for maintenance (which I understand is necessary) but to get to and from our room was complicated. Because they block the pool area door, we are forced to use the elevator farthest from our room, or enter and exit through the dark, dirty parking garage. I would not trust my wife's safety alone down there.

I was extremely happy with...
Liked: I was initially traveling alone and became nervous. A friend ended up joining me but your hotel gave me the comfort to know I could have and will travel alone! Everything was amazing! Location, accessibility, staff, food, pool, drink, coffee… all of it! All the accommodations. Cleanliness and comfort as well. I will stay again and recommend for sure!
Disliked: I think our first night we were hungry at 11:00 and just wanted to hit a vending machine for a snack. I know a vending machine doesn’t fit into the decor so we just made sure we had snacks the rest of the time we were there!

A real treat
Disliked: The only negative we experienced when we ordered a nice red wine to our room it came in plastic latte cups which was very strange. I did mention to reception on departure and they seemed quite shocked so doesn’t sound like that it’s a common problem.

Fabulous!
Liked: The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The hotel had all the amenities you could think of, right down to beach chairs and beach towels. The Palms was excellent. Location perfect.
