When I will be in...
Liked: When we arrived, there was a surprise for us, that we must have embossed credit card, which I currently don't have. It was never asked in any hotel in Europe. After confirmation from bank hotel accepted the card. Besides that everything went smooth. We had one problem with the room, hotel staff fixed it quite fast. They gladly borrowed us extension for electricity and we could keep it also for our 5 days trip to LA. Rooms were big, always clean. Location is amazing, close to Union station (main station in Washington) and to the Capitol.

Nice location, okay staff, overpriced...
Liked: Excellent location Walking distance to the Capitol and other key government buildings.
Disliked: This was not my first stay and I've noticed that the menu in their only restaurant never changes - no specials - same boring options, which are grossly overpriced. Given what they charge for a room , you would think they could employ a more inventive chef, assuming they actually have a chef.

Elegant Luxury Hotel - Might...
Liked: the room was spacious (it even echoed), had a chair, desk, couch, motion lights, entry way and large TV. The lobby had several places to sit. Staff was friendly. valet was punctual. the attached restaurant was delicious but expensive. Most meals were fresh and from scratch.Less than a mile from Union Station. Couple miles from the Capital. Location allows walking to many places or to public transport. They have pamphlets if you ask for them. Nothing is out in the open. Suppose to work with concierge to plan your trip and set everything up.
Disliked: We were not use to luxury hotels and when arrived we felt uncomfortable. Wasn't sure what to do and staff was there immediately to help. However, it was let me get the bags, take them inside, valet the car, and check in. Since we declined all that and went to check in we weren't sure where closest parking garage was. Then bringing in our stuff in casual travel clothing made us stick out. The staff were in suits and guests were business casual. We even got trapped in the elevator (no sign or communication on where to put the key card). We never figured out the room service or concierge. Overall if your new to luxury hotels, then this might become difficult due to no directions.the bed was too soft - you'd just sink and fold. both our lower backs hurt next morning. Couch was firm and didn't have any give.

Great DC experience
Liked: I loved this hotel. Super friendly staff, everyone we encountered seemed very invested in making sure we had the best experience possible. The room was spacious, clean, very guest friendly.I was unaware of this brand and will now seek it out when traveling.
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was occasionally hearing dogs bark. I am not a pet owner so pet friendly is not something I look for but I can appreciate that this might be a big draw for others. It was not terrible, just always surprised me to hear it.

Good location for visiting Capitol...
Liked: Would have liked simpler, cheaper options for breakfast.
Disliked: At check-in, should have been told that room key needed to be scanned to make elevator operable - and for each floor! We talked about this on the elevator with several guests, who all thought the same!

Good location, but won’t stay...
Liked: Location is good. Hotel is clean and staff very helpful.
Disliked: Room was located on the left side just above the restaurant with the door of the restaurant leading to the hotel, opening and closing with a noise. Very disturbing. A la carte breakfast, not my preferred choice, as you would choose one dish, then it is not varied. Or you take more than one choice to diversify, but then you would have too much. It would have been better to have breakfast sets for example, which usually combine different dishes in small portions.
