Exceptional
Liked: It was great to have dinner in restaurant (food was really good) and then sit with a glass of wine on sofa in front of fire. Whilst we were in bedroom above bar, the noise was gone and then very quiet from 11pm. First time and not the last to stay there - staff were great too
Disliked: There was really anything not to like.

Overnight Stay
Liked: Clean, warm and a very comfortable bed. Attentive and friendly service by the two young ladies at dinner. Good breakfast.
Disliked: No Wi-Fi reception in Room 8:(cottage). Didn’t like that rooms were named after guns (we were in Beretta) with a picture of a gun above the bed. Just my personal view but whilst I appreciate you are trying to appeal to the hunting and shooting brigade, it seemed unnecessary.

Very nice stop over on...
Liked: We had a lovely meal in the restaurant it was in a very nicely decorated room, you could see the chefs cooking. I expect it would be lovely in Summer as the garden looked amazing. The food and service were both good. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was tasty and well presented. We also had breakfast and it was good too. Only one small thing, we had the granola, there was far too much (half of the amount would have been sufficient) and it lacked yoghurt, had to ask for more as it was very dry. We stayed in the outside room as there was three of us we had two rooms, both were very nicely decorated. There was nothing to criticise, the bathroom was amazing and the room I stayed in with my husband had a door to a garden outside, again would be lovely in the summer. My son had the upstairs room and it was also very nice. It was a very short walk to where we ate and had breakfast. There was no car parking but we parked at a small car park nearby. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly during our stay.
Disliked: The heating had been turned up to warm the room. We forgot about it and the room was very hot through the night. If you stay make sure you check the controls on the radiator are low.

Good
Liked: Dog Friendly.I would describe this as a restaurant with rooms. It really doesn't have a pub atmosphere. The room was lovely and a good size and could accommodate a larger bed. I found the stay uncomfortable due to the bed being too small. Pillows were flat and lifeless and had to be changed. Lovely large bathroom. The property has a beautiful garden with seating & heating. Very disappointed to arrive at 2:10 and be told we could not eat as lunch ends at 2:30. Directed to go to the Pantry across the road, no idea why: it serves cakes. Highly recommend Renegade Brewery 3 min drive for food and drinks.Everything is lovely but it lacked atmosphere. Good for an overnight stay.
