Liked: Room was really clean and nice, and had an old world feel
Disliked: We were right above the bar so there was no early nights

Liked: Sensitively restored to a lovely hotel. Staff were very helpful. Room and bathroom were clean and well appointed. Dinner was superb.
Disliked: Liked everything. Our bikes were accommodated but I think facilities for bikes and bikers would be a good idea.

Liked: Exceptionally refurbished very old hotel, with great helpful staff, a chef creating some of the best food I have had for a long time.
Disliked: Because the hotel is close to the main highway to Wellington on the East coast, there is some lower level of vehicle noise overnight from passing trucks etc.

Amazing Restoration

Liked: Amazing decor that reflects a historic hotel.This is the best example of a period hotel restoration we have seen.
Disliked: Bed could be improved with a topper comfort layer and choice of pillows.
