Nice enough hotel, great location,...
Liked: The location
Disliked: The staff on reception were slow and didn’t listen. I appreciate that some of them are being trained up but would be better to have a basic level of understanding of what the were doing before being let loose with customers. Also, breakfast was poorly organised - again the staff were very slow. I had to go looking for menus for a la carte, the food took over 30 mins to turn up (how long does it take to poach an egg). The people at the table next to us had the same issues and ended up leaving.

Liked: Location, staff and breakfast
Disliked: The bathroom needed renovation, the double bed was the smallest that I had ever seen. A lot of noise in the corridors.

Pleasant
Liked: Excellent location, clean super comfortable rooms
Disliked: Breakfast room service was cold, called down to reception and after 30 mins no reply. Went down for breakfast, no apology at Checkout. Wife requested to pay for a drink upgrade for our lunch as celebrating a birthday and no acknowledgment or action on this

The room was very comfortable...
Liked: The choice at breakfast was excellent. Coffee was good. There was also an espresso coffee maker in the room. The shower was excellent offering both hand-held and overhead shower. Both worked well. I particularly liked the low reflective light outside the bedroom window which resembled daylight making it much easier to get up in the dark mornings. Complimentary chilled water in the room was very much appreciated. The bar food was delicious.
Disliked: Breakfast was all buffet style and depended on a certain level of mobility. It took a few minutes to operate the toaster for the first time but got quicker with practice.

Poor customer service below par...
Liked: The morning reception staff were sympathetic to our situation and did not charge us for the camp bed and gave us a discount on the room but frankly we were treated like something stuck on the sole of your shoe.
Disliked: Upgraded to a ‘triple room’ did not receive link to my email to pay, presumed all was well. Not so… Made to wait 1.5 hours in foyer while our room was prepared. A camp bed was the triple bed (wholly unsuitable for an adult). The room was pokey, there were just two cups (for 3 guests). Receptionist told me I was wasting my breath and she would release me from my booking so I could find somewhere else to stay if I wasn’t prepared to wait. We had an event to attend and had to resort to doing our hair in the ladies bathroom which was small and not particularly clean. A laughable five star experience. I do not believe any guest deserves to be treated as we were. I have since written to the hotel and received no response.

Superb
Liked: Large room with opening window, high so relatively quiet. Comfortable chairs and lots of storage. Much better than many modern hotels. Perfect for transport or walking around the City.
Disliked: Bit pricey.
