Liked: Nice location on the beach. Lots of places very close to eat and drink. Clean and tidy and good value. Chairs and tables in the room.

Disliked: I was put in a room unfortunately that allowed other guests to sit outside my window , also opposite me a few guests sat outside their room talking loudly till after 10:30. I had to higher the volume on the television and did not fall asleep till after 23:00. I had a very early start that day travelling from the north for 5 hours , had to go to a meeting at 19:00 in Burnham on sea town centre so was really tired and more than ready for bed. Don't understand why the guests had to sit outside their rooms , especially that late at night ,i also had to travel to Exeter the next morning then travel back home for 5 hours , so unfortunately the stay in the Clarence wasn't very enjoyable

Disliked: The Royal Clarence Hotel name gives the impression that this is a hotel, it does not have the facilities or the conveniences of a comfortable hotel but it carries a hotel price. We paid far too much for very basic facilities, the bed was too small and not comfortable with very thin bedding. I asked for a blanket which was provided, but there should be extra bedding in the room. The hotel staff make very little effort in their appearances looking generally dishevelled and untidy in t shirts. If they cannot take this seriously as a hotel how can the guests especially at the prices charged. I was told to book direct with them in future for a better price but even a £15 discount would still be too much to pay. I won’t be going back
