Don’t do it

Liked: The place was in a decent spot on the outskirts of a cool area. Unfortunately the hotel was filthy and looked nothing like the clean photos online. The bedroom had the most disgusting brown carpet and the walls doors and furniture looked like they have never been cleaned. There was mold all over the walls in the bathroom with no ventilation. I regretted my booking the moment I stepped foot in the door. Don’t make the same mistake that I did.

Liked: Beautiful, historic building with a nice ambiance. I stayed in the roof floor. Unfırtunately my room didn't have any scene. The other rooms must be much better. The hotel is located in the city center. Very nice accomodation.

Liked: Location, staff and room were all fantastic.Everyone was so kind to our boys (4 & 1) and made check in/out and meal time so easy.Breakfast was a great start to each day and always fresh and delicious.
Disliked: Maybe some plant based milk or yoghurt at breakfast.

Grand old mansion, restored and...

Liked: Grand old mansion, restored and transformed into a hotel. Location is on Praça da República, which is a 10 walk from the main Trindade metro station, so it is easy to get around the city on foot or by public transport. Staff was very kind and efficient, ready to help whenever needed. Everything was clean and neat, the room exactly as pictured on Booking. There was a nice common area where one could have breakfast or hang out, a luggage room if needed and elevator. I would definitely consider returning!
Disliked: Nothing wrong - just a word of caution for those who don't know Porto. The garden in Praça da República is undergoing construction work. Also, sometimes there are some shady characters about the square, though they never give anyone any problems. I walked around alone, both during the daytime and night-time (for example, when coming "home" from late dinners) - nobody ever gave me any problems.

Liked: The location and the staff are nice.
Disliked: During my stay there, there was no hot water in this cold weather. There is construction just outside that goes on 24/7 so the nights are not quiet. I don’t know if it’s the train or what but there’s this vibration sensation like the door and bed are shaking. Not ideal for a light sleeper like me. I woke up quite a lot at night . Apart from that, it’s a nice place to stay at. I’d go back if there was no construction around there.

Liked: The Overall aesthetic of the hotel. The old timey small elevator. The breakfast was perfect for the area we were in. Proprietar was friendly and accommodating. And we had a bidet.
Disliked: Only downside was the door leading to the balcony was off its hinge so we didn’t bother to go outside nor did we say anything about a repair while there
