Our stay in the hotel...

Liked: Our room was Gallery King type and it happened to be with view of empire state building and a balcony which we didn't expect. The room was big enough and had mini fridge which we used a lot. There was free coffee each morning and machine for filtered water in the gym. The gym was not big but it was opened 24 hours. The location was perfect since a lot of metro lines cross in grand central and the neighborhood felt safe during late night hours.
Disliked: The air conditioner was a bit louder first night and made the air dry but we turned it off for the rest of our stay while sleeping and there was no problem.

Disliked: Carpet in room old and not fresh The aircon unit was noisy and not userfriendlyDoes not accept ApplePay!!!!

We had a fabulous stay...

Liked: Fab location and friendly staff.
Disliked: It would have been nice to have more of a coffee area open all day. The bar often had the door shut. But not a great issue as close to a lot of nice coffee shops!

Our stay was short so...

Liked: Centrally located. Nice and helpful staff.
Disliked: Room was very cramped. The bathroom was very dated. It looks like some fixtures were replaced, but the tub was definitely old. There was a single shade covering two windows, one of which was very close to a building in the back so we needed to keep the large blackout shade down for privacy. If there was a separate shade each window, we would have kept one up to get some natural light and to enjoy the city view.

Excellent location for exploring Manhattan...

Liked: Great location for exploring Manhattan and other parts of NYC. Great to get a family room in such a central location - we could easily walk to several tourist destinations including the Empire State Building, the New. York Public Library, Times Square, Grand Central terminal and the Rockerfeller Centre. The room was clean, worked well for 4 of us (2 beds). Staff were very helpful.
Disliked: The sofa bed wasn't made up when we checked in, and we had to ask for linen to do this ourselves when we realised later in the evening. However, the next day the housekeeping staff were very helpful rearranging the furniture to make the room more comfortable and usable.Minor improvements that would have just improved our stay slightly would have been: a coffee maker or similar in the room (there was complimentary coffee served downstairs in the morning); twin beds that could have been separated rather than a double so that the children could have slept in their own beds rather than sharing a double.

A disappointing place for a...

Liked: The location to Grand Central Station and the friendly front desk and housekeeping staff.
Disliked: The room was dirty. There was a hair on the bathroom wall, dark marks on the bedroom wall, and there was dirt on the floors and rug. The shower didn’t drain completely!
