Definitely not the upscale hotel...
Liked: We’ve stayed here before, and like the location near the tube at South Kensington, opposite the V@A Museum, and in walking distance to Harrod’s. But, see below—no turn down service, no chocolates on pillow, no robes, no hair conditioner, and rude or indifferent staff…very disappointing.
Disliked: First, and foremost, this place is filled with rude and unhelpful staff, whose only purpose seems to be upselling things at the hotel. We came here for our 40th anniversary and had honeymooned here. We notified the hotel months before arrival that we would need an early check-in, so they sent us not one, but numerous emails offering early check- in for an outrageous extra fee. In the email I believe they also offered many other “extras” with up-charges- and touted their Sarova hotel group in shameless advertising- but there was no personal message saying- “ we are thrilled that you would come back and stay with us again for your 40th anniversary, and of course, we’d be pleased to offer you early check in as a token of our appreciation for you as repeat guests ( for 4 nights, at not a small sum of money) whom we value.” Other than this indifference, was the fact that when we checked in, the front desk clerk offered us the option of waiting in their bar/lounge area and having coffee or tea- and when we tried to do just that, the Maitre D’ turned us away and told us if we wanted to stay, we’d be charged for breakfast. Additionally, although their Maitre D’ saw that I had difficulty walking after being on a long plane flight, when I asked for the ladies room to freshen up I was directed to a long flight of stairs instead of told where the easier route by elevator was located. Other than unhelpful staff the room had an old and cheap appearance- it had obviously not been refreshed like the lobby had been. I also resent the fact that the hotel owns and operates a spa/health club attached to the hotel, with facilities that are not available to guests, except for another upcharge— yet they advertise that they have these facilities, and pretend that they are an upscale choice for lodging in London.

This was our fourth stay...
Liked: The breakfast was excellent, a nice big room, and a great variety of food. I really enjoyed the oatmeal with croissant rolls. The orange juice was very good as well.
Disliked: I thought that the bacon was a little bit over cooked, but still good.

Superb
Liked: Everything was excellent apart from the staff at the breakfast. The waitress was rushing around and clearing with out checking if we needed anymore cutlery. When we asked she was terribly rude. Such a shame, as all other staff from the reception to the concierge and the gentlemen that helped us with the luggage, were wonderful. Your breakfast staff seemed rushed and ill mannered. They need to slow down and smile a little more.

Great location and worth it...
Liked: Location is wonderful. The lobby has lots of seating, great place to meet people. Staff were friendly and helpful. You can walk to a lot of places from The Rembrandt , the hotel is opposite V and A, close to Harrods. Lovely area for food nearby and also close to the underground.
Disliked: The breakfast was standard fare. Self service buffet, could have had a few more interesting options and it could have been better presented . Tea and coffee from machines, the usual juices and pancake machine.

Perfect location but have stayed...
Liked: The location was perfect, we were going to a shot at Royal Albert hall and my husband left his glasses in the hotel room. The location meant I could go fetch them before the show started.
Disliked: The air conditioning units need modernising- they were very loud meaning we had to turn off, then there was a loud noise every few minutes so had to get maintenance. It was turned off completely meaning it was very warm and stuffy in the room. Would have expected better coffee brand in the room for the price (Nescafé isn’t a nice brand). Was under the impression that the pool facilities were included in the price but they were not.
