Alnmouth is a great location....

Liked: 3 breakfasts on offer. I had all 3. Full English, Kipper & Continental on my 3 mornings. I like variety. Coffee in a cafetière was very good. Piping hot & smooth.Good step-in shower. Good controls & volume. Good towels.Downstairs bar was cosy. Parking in November is fine.
Disliked: Room temp was slightly below preferred temp. Couldn't increase temp in bedroom radiator. Bathroom rad was actually warmer. Shower cubicle had nowhere to place soap/shampoo etc.

Lovely overnight break, food was...

Liked: Comfortable and clean, well presented
Disliked: Tea and coffee facilities, prefer fresh coffee and milk in room, no hot chocolate. First time we stayed offered a lovely continentalNo be board with homemade granola pots, I missed this added extra. Just the finer detail however, it was second time here and would stay again.

Disappointing and extremely over priced.

Liked: The view out of our window
Disliked: Extremely overpriced room. Nowhere to park, you just arrive and keep driving up and down the road looking for a space. Kitchen on the first night not open due to an electrical fault. Kitchen is also opposite room 1, not mentioned in website, but you can hear everything outside in the kitchen goings on. The room was incredibly small and not suitable at all for 2 people. It stated a king size bed, the frame might have been but the matress was a double bed size as there was a good inch or two around it. The room was incredibly stuffy so we slept with the window wide open all night. The radiator was turned off for us by the manager. Not impressed with the key member of staff serving breakfast on our last day. We turned up a little early for breakfast as we had to get back due to a family emergency but you would have thought I’d asked for a full roast dinner, the look on the staff member’s face was out of order. She also failed to tell all customers on check-in that they have to sit on the table number matching their room number. Unfortunately an elderly couple sat down on a table not matching their room number and was served the breakfast allocated to that room number. She was extremely rude to the elderly gentleman. Then the couple turned up whose room number matched the table and she told him he had to eat his cooked breakfast, but he said he wanted corn flakes first, but she said he would have to have them after! This staff member needs retraining in customer service skills. Go to the Whittlington next door for excellent service and amazing food.
