Nice hotel but disappointing room...

Liked: The hotel is well-located, within a comfortable distance from the city center, and offers stunning panoramic views of Porto and Gaia. The breakfast was good, and the rooftop was beautiful.However, we were disappointed with our room. We booked a two-bedroom suite with river views. Based on the photos on Booking, we expected all rooms and the living area to have large windows overlooking the Douro River. Instead, we were placed in room 231 of the Atlantic Block. Getting there was confusing, and not intuitive at all.The room did not match our expectations. Despite it being a sunny weekend, it was quite dark. The living area had a high window with river views, and only one of the bedrooms had a window with a view. The other bedroom faced a plain concrete wall, with no view at all.When we requested a room change, we were initially told they would accommodate us as there was availability. However, hours later, they informed us that the only alternative room was under maintenance, so they couldn’t offer a switch.The kitchen was well equipped and beds were not particularly comfortable.The staff, to their credit, were always empathetic and polite. As compensation, they at least did not charge us for parking.In summary, some rooms are advertised as something they are not. While the hotel itself is very good, we left with a disappointing overall experience.
