Great place and great value

Liked: Really nice place. Room was small as 'advertised' but still very comfortable. Very friendly staff. And perhaps because it was Sunday and Monday in late March it was really quiet.

Disliked: It shut early so I had to find my way around to the back entrance through an NCP car park. My walking disability found this difficult. I left at 7.30 am . There was no staff to be seen. The only way I could get back to my car parked in front of the ”HOTEL “ was through the car park again. Access to the rooms was up a very twisty and irregular staircase.

Cheap but very cheerful and...

Liked: The staff were great. The food is plain but good and a good amount. Just note that at breakfast it is just a normal cooked breakfast (again very good and good quality) however no cerials or marmalade for toast. The shower was brillliant, and the beds were very comfortable. The NCP car park is directly at the back of the pub and very reasonably priced. The Shakespeare theatre is within comfortable walking distance, even with bad hips.
Disliked: The room was a bit cramped and we struggled to find sufficient power points. There wasn’t a blind in the bathroom but the window is frosted. No waste bin in the bathroom. Bit of mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. Could easily be painted with damp proof paint. No major issues.
