Comfortable hotel and delicious food.
Liked: Great location for visiting Harlow Carr and to walk into Harrogate (about 30 minutes). Comfortable room. Lovely decor and calm feel to all of the communal areas. Excellent food. Anton, the chef on the evening of our stay, prepared delicious food and Richard was a really attentive host and kindly extended our check out time free of charge. Breakfast was also beautifully cooked and presented. All staff were lovely.
Disliked: The first 2 rooms we were offered were in the attic. The first smelt odd and the second was cold, had mould on the stone window frame and on the net curtains, which were also coming unstitched. The final room we were offered was very comfortable for our one night stay.

First solo trip
Liked: As a first time solo traveller I felt safe and the staff were attentive but not intrusive.

Inflations Impact on luxury aspects...
Liked: Location near RHS Harlow CarrQuiet but small room
Disliked: Lack of EV charge points in the car park. (A 13A socket would be better than nothing. A 7kW type 2 connector even better).Cost reduced range of breakfast buffet took away the luxury of a weekend break having to ask for everything. No marmalade available, only jam!Lack of salt & pepper on the table as standard. Inability to charge to the room number and make one payment at the end of the weekend. Faulty flickering light bulbTV lacked sound on BBC1 onlyNo working WiFi in the room or public areas.Signal but no IP address was available.A USB power socket would have been useful While we understand the need to address increasing costs and lower margins, the above rather took away the luxury and style of having a break away from home.
