Disliked: We stayed at one separated house. Very dark, and smelled humidity.

Lovely hotel and would stay...

Liked: Lovely characterful hotel and a great location. We stayed for 3 nights pre cruise in a junior suite in Birch House, a few minutes walk from the main hotel. Lovely big room with lots of space, but it was cold (switched air con to heat but it didn’t make any difference). We were unlucky that the weather was poor which may have impacted on the room temperature. Post cruise we booked a room in the main hotel. Though it was a small room, we much preferred it to staying at Birch House. Great location, overlooking waterway, few minutes to beach. We had 2 very nice meals in the restaurant sitting on the deck overlooking the water. Breakfast was ok but limited and expensive. We mostly ate at Cafe Casablanca, a few minutes walk.
Disliked: Room in Birch House was cold and unheated. Meals are expensive. No kettle in bedrooms, only a coffee machine, so couldn’t make an early morning cup of tea.

Liked: Great location close to the beach and right on an inland waterway. Best dinners in Fort Lauderdale were the ones here. Branzino was amazing! Wait staff were very good.
Disliked: This is not a luxury hotel. Checking in was a bit of a challenge. The reception area was empty when we arrived and it took about ten minutes to find someone to check us in. The room was spacious, but lacked character. It felt more like a mid -range VRBO. Very poor water pressure in the shower, stains on the furniture and tired carpeting do not spell luxury. The noise from the streets which surrounded us on three sides kept us awake. Daily cleaning was cursory. Inquiries by staff about our stay seemed perfunctory,

Excellent spacious suite and nice...

Liked: Very spacious suite, newly renovated. Nice amenities, in particular drinks and snacks.Also hugely important: free parking on the property was really nice!
