Liked: Booked an executive room, it was spacious, comfy, quiet and came with a nice bathtub. The room gets cleaned every day. The location is good and relatively quiet, easy to access and commute. Great value for money.

Complete let down on expectation

Liked: The property was in a good location and it was nice that the room had windows which you could open. I had also pointed out that it was my husbands birthday so they popped a couple balloons on the bed.
Disliked: Found this on a Black Friday offer so thought I had got a bargain. Turn out it it was far from expectation! The staff at the front desk came across rude, like you had interrupted their day. We arrived 30minutes early and we were told the room was not ready, come back at 2. We asked if we could wait in the bar and were told they did not have a bar, it was a dry hotel. Would have been useful to know this before travelling. After waiting at a pub down the road we went back and found our room. The room was spacious but in very very used condition. The carpet had rips & holes in places and water damage around the bathroom are. The mattress had been used that much there were indents on each side where you laid and was extremely hard to sleep on. The windows had wooden frames and were rotting and falling apart in places. The bathroom had loose tiles on the floor, the mirror was badly damaged along the bottom, the extraction made an annoying noise due to the amount of mould inside of it and the shower was that low you couldn’t stand under it to wash your hair (I’m only 5’7) . The advertised mini bar contained 3 bottles of water, turns out it was just a very noisy fridge in the room. Upon checkout, I advised that we were checking out, they asked for the room number then told us we can go. Never even asked how we or our stay were!We previously stayed at the premier in down the road for half the price and it was a much better stay than this. We would never usually book something like this but thought it would be nice to try something a little bit more up market. How wrong we were. Never felt so ripped off, so glad I didn’t pay full price.
