Liked: This is a lovely clean hotel. Has a lot of character, bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Food enjoyable
Disliked: I was disappointed, with not being able to use lounge area, due to a wake. The same thing happened last September, that time it was a wedding. Both of these went on late into the night. Children running wild. We were once again having to sit in the reception area. With everyone using the 2 toilets plus 1 disability toilet. They were in a disgusting state, nobody sorted them, really not enough toilets when guests and people are attending functions. With a mobility issue it was too far to go to my room to use toilet. Also baths are far too high for people with mobility issues to have a bath. They should invest in special disability square step. Which are perfectly safe and not too expensive. This hotel has limited rooms with showers

Liked: I couldn't fault the hotel at all. It has a little old fashioned quirkiness and I liked that. The staff were absolutely brilliant, always friendly and helpful. I stayed with my 4 year old Grandson and everyone went over and above to make him feel comfortable especially Paul in the breakfast room! The room was huge ( unlike the modern hotels) with panoramic sea views. The en-suite was a proper big bathroom. The pool was a decent size, warm and clean but local elderly people were in there and I felt uncomfortable as I felt I had to try and keep my grandson quiet and to not mess around and when we were in the changing rooms an elderly lady came out of a cubicle absolutely naked ( she would have known we were there ) something a 4 year old should never see, safe to say I didn't take him in there again. But I would most definitely stay at the Palace Hotel again.
