Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Mrs Purdy, Hertfordshire Mon, 17 September 2012

There was excessive street noise from outside our bedroom which went on until 4.30am. Then a council dust-cart arrived to wake us at 7.45am. The hotel made no effort to move us, listen to us or alleviate our distress in anyway. We had no sleep at all, except for 2 hours between the outside noise abating and the dustcart arriving. The hotel should warn guests beforehand that there is excessive street noise from two pubs outside the room. This hotel wanted our money and cared about nothing else. The reception staff just said sorry, smiled and did nothing.

Liked: Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Street noise from our room was excessive.

Pleasant

Liked: Staff were friendly and location was good. The room was not the best, very hot when we got in there as the heating was on, the curtains did not cover the windows properly so let a lot of light in the morning. The coffee mugs were not clean and there was a tissue left on the window sill.

Liked: the staff were really lovely and talkative! the room was really nice, clean and tidy. the beds were really soft which alot of people like. super old building so the lift took ages to come down and it's a small lift as well so if anyone else is waiting then it's a bit of a pain. overall it was a lovely atmosphere and a great room !! the location is absolutely perfect, couldn't have asked for better! right next to the pier and only a short walk for the lanes and the shopping centre!! we would stay again!
