Spoilt by rude staff

Liked: This hotel has a lovely outdoor space overlooking the water but it is closed all day We went back at five to enjoy what was left of a beautiful sunny day to be told the bar was closed, they were very busy and would not open again. He did eventually let us have a drink but we were made to feel very unwelcome and a real inconvenience .

Could improve in some areas

Liked: Loved the central location and friendly staffThe menu didn't change as a vegetarian so would have had the same thing both nights if I'd eaten in. And on food each morning they ran out of things at breakfast..perhaps bigger serving bowls in order. The lounge/bar is more a corridor than cosy.Bedroom was fine but the outside light didn't work and one on the shower was flickering. Lots of mould in the shower.Overall I think it needs a face lift and really for the extra money the room was not not worth it.

Good

Liked: The room (number 10) was comfortable. The outside deck was nice although the boards were not secure. The staff were very helpful and welcoming
Disliked: The proximity of the church clock was unexpected and so the room was not as quiet as we'd hoped, and the unavoidable creaking floorboards added to that. The car park is a long way away but there is nothing you can do about that.

Great location,great food, lovely staff,...

Liked: Location was fantastic. Lovely bar area to relax in. Staff v friendly and attentive. FOH lady v kindly called me when the room was ready. Breakfast delicious and also the meal from the evening before.
Disliked: Bathroom needs updating. No blind in one of the windows which wasn't good as there were properties on the other side of the road. Noisy from the street. Part of the blind fell from the top of one of the windows, luckily we weren't hit on the head!
