Lovely old building, lots of...

Liked: The evening meal was really nice, a bit pricey but lovely. Breakfast was good, there was a good selection and the cooked breakfast was well cooked. Lots of character being 14th century and perfectly situated for the town centre.
Disliked: There was a constant buzz which was audible in the room, it didn't keep us awake but a bit annoying. The mirror needs to be within reach of a socket outlet so that it could be used when drying hair.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Terrible experience, overpriced

Liked: Location for carnival and visiting family, breakfast
Disliked: Room very very dated, nothing like pictures on booking.com Sink in bedroom, shower and toilet separate, shower went off when being used. Fire alarm activated twice during the night, no instructions in room on where to go, nobody from the hotel around for direction, people just wandered back in hotel after alarm stopped, no fire brigade attendance, very worrying if it had been a real fire. No hairdryer in room after asking prior to our stay. Stayed a number of times at this hotel, this was our worst experience! Will never return to the hotel again and certainly will not recommend the hotel. Money taken from account prior to our stay when it was stated pay on arrival. Card only taken no cash as we found out when buying drinks at night
