Great location and great food

Liked: The location is super, can walk directly from there into countryside, it's quiet and beautiful. Staff really friendly, food is great, dogs are made a real fuss of.
Disliked: You will hear downstairs in restaurant through floor but they all go about 10pm when we went to bed and after that it's super quiet and peaceful.

Pleasant place for a short...

Liked: The location is great if you enjoy walking - some lovely walks from the doorstep. Very dog-friendly, helpful as we had our dog staying with us. Staff were friendly and accommodating. View across the valley from bedroom was lovely. Breakfast was good, evening meals also good though inconsistent.
Disliked: For the bedroom, unfortunately the shower cubicle was poorly fitted with doors not closing properly. Staff were aware of this. One of our meals was poorer quality on the 2nd night than 1st night. Staff took this on board and discounted it. Otherwise all good.

Good value for money, good...

Liked: Location was good. Good parking. Special curry menu was very good for an evening meal.
Disliked: Pub only has table seating, but it would have been nice to be able to sit in a comfy seat by the fire.Very dog friendly pub, but unfortunately smelled slightly of dog in the room. Unfortunately some other patrons let their dogs roam, which I was a little uncomfortable with.

Great countryside stay

Liked: My husband and I had a great stay at the Oakover Arms. All of the staff were lovely and friendly, our evening meal and breakfast were both delicious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pub was very busy with it being a Saturday evening but thankfully their description prompted us to book a table. The view from our bedroom window was lovely too.

Superb

Liked: We loved the location! Really peaceful and quiet. The room was really comfy and we had a lovely view out of the front of the pub. Food and menu was fabulous and breakfast was great. Loved the professional attitude of the staff.
Disliked: We booked dinner for 6, and we checked in at 4.30. Spoke to a staff member who said our table was already reserved so we could eat dinner whenever we liked. We got changed and was downstairs in 15 minutes, but the table had other people on it. We were then told by another staff member that we could have our table at 6pm only - so we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes. It was fine as we were ready for a drink anyway, just a point.
