Good hotel at port fairy

Liked: Big modern room with a lot of facilities. Great restaurant downstairs and friendly staff.
Disliked: We had a free room upgrade from booking, but we didn’t realise it meant that we had a bathroom and toilet ensuite. Breakfast was good, but not many options.

Luxurious but personable stay

Liked: The team here were incredible friendly and seemed genuinely happy to work there and welcome myself and my friend. The best place we stayed along the Great Ocean Drive without a doubt- just wish we had done two nights! Drinks and food in the restaurant incredible- best chocolate mousse desert!Room was so spacious and nicely finished.

Disliked: Breakfast .. 1st day was a little disappointing. Arrived at 8.30am (Breakfast started at 8am) and items had run out… also what was mentioned was no longer available!!

Disliked: ANCHOR SUITE @ £189 not worth the money!! Room on ground floor with light penetrating through the edges all night. A large gap at the bottom of the door which is a fire hazard! Noisy people upstairs walking and banging about at 6amBin lorry outside the window at 6amNoisy fridge which needed to be turned off over nightStaff seemed detached from the accommodation side of the business. Didn’t know where iron and ironing boards were kept Sink in bathroom wasn’t draining away very quickly Shower head in bathroom needs descaling The breakfast wasn’t great. Arrived at 8.30am and no meat, cheese or croissants left. I asked for some cheese & ham and the girl who was doing everything on her own said that it was finished for the morning, really??? Breakfast was from 8-10am so if you didn’t get there first, just too bad!!! She did bring some croissants that she had forgotten about that were slightly over cooked, but edible. I also didn’t like the fact that all the food was left uncovered with flies around :( Really not impressed with our stay, overpriced for what you get. Not sure if the owners have changed? The welcome pack gives different choices for breakfast. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to staying here !
