Beautiful rooms full of everything you could need and with plenty of character. Helpful and friendly staff; great food and excellent location for Colchester Station and town. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would absolutely stay there again if in the area.

Liked: The reception area and bar/restaurant were well maintained and comfortable. The staff were very courteous and helpful but clearly overworked/understaffed. The location was ideal for our purposes and the car park was quite close once we found it with the help of the male member of staff on duty when we arrived.
Disliked: Whilst we had sufficient towels in our room/bathroom one of my party who was in a room on her own had no towels whatsoever in her room/bathroom. She had not noticed this on arrival and discovered the problem the next morning as she was about to get in the shower. We didn't have much time so she chose to not shower rather than call reception.
