So awesome I’ve been here...

Liked: Wonderful hotel with a cozy atmosphere that surpassed my wife and my expectations and excellent location for foot passengers. Breakfast was truly amazing with a great selection and the price is well worth it - but would suggest to go early before rush hour so you fully enjoy the experience and charm. Like the echo concept and drive to remove fridges and kettle from room and easy to grab a coffee from the bar anyway ;) Lovely room that was super cozy and quirky and had all that we needed. Staff were almost excellent and chambermaids excellent. I will always book this hotel when I return to Kiel.
Disliked: 3 negative things1) My first visit ever in late December ‘24 encountered 2 fire alarms on 2 separate days and while the alarm is there for everyone’s safety, it was quite annoying as there was obviously no fire but more, no announcement whatsoever to guests to inform what happened and I felt that it would be a good gesture to disseminate such info. As mentioned, I returned a week later for a second visit and on my second day at 3am, yet again, another fire alarm and yet again, a false alarm and no information passed to guests. When the fire alarm rings so often, there’s clearly some issue there; will it ring a fourth time I wander?2) The early morning staff members (2am) sadly did not hold the same professionalism as their regular day shift counterparts. We had to check out to catch the early bus to Hamburg airport and despite seeing us waiting at reception, the young gentleman seemed to indulge in smoking sessions outside with some friends rather than address us promptly. When he finally came in, the member of staff did not seem quite with it or focused - appearing intoxicated. This judgment was further reinforced when we had checked out, left the hotel and were half way up the road and the same member of staff came onto the street shouting that we had not paid for our stay. Despite this hiccup, we will return. 3) Two of the fire alarm evacuations were separated by 1 week apart but were in the early morning and on both occasions, when exiting the hotel, the early-morning member of staff mentioned above was present with the same friends and there was a horrible strong cigarette smell either coming from them or within the reception area - it was not a nice impression.

Liked: Simple and pleasant.Very central location with lots of parking houses nearby.Comfortable room and nice breakfast.
Disliked: Always nice with a small fridge and a electric kettle in hotel rooms, which this one lacked

Liked: The place, it was really close to several Christmas markets.
Disliked: The beds separated since it wasn’t a double bed. No room to leave your things in the bathroom.
