The New Yorker A Wyndham Hotel, New York City

We ate at the hotel restaurant. The bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We valet parked our car and it was taken good care of. We would stay at the Wyndham again.

It's a very old hotel but it is in a fantastic location for Manhattan. The price is exceptional for a NYC hotel and it is a clean, safe place to stay. Rooms were a little small but wouldn't stop me from staying again. Friendly staff.

Would recommend a different hotel

Disliked: Night staff was not friendly. Toilet flusher broke and took 1hr for a mechanic to come to the room and flooded the floors. Staff did not communicate about the issue even though I called about 5 different times.

Great location and good value...

Liked: Location, cleanliness, great staff, lovely views of the Empire State Building. Easy to get about, very close to the subway (Penn Station) and an easy walk into Times Square. 24 hour American Diner and an Italian restaurant in the lobby of the hotel and a small coffee/snack bar.
Disliked: The room (Queen Suite) wasn't as large or the same layout as advertised on the hotel website. The room key cards kept demagnetising. Seems to be a common issue at the hotel - a minor annoyance.

Liked: Great Location. We were taking Amtrak the next morning and didn't want too far to walk to the station.
Disliked: Noisy neighbors which the hotel had no control. Also. I don't recommend Butcher and Banker restaurant, particularly ordering the steak for two.

Disliked: Booked a room with a view. The view was of the building on the street opposite. The room was nothing like the one advertised on booking.com or the hotel website. I was told if I wanted a view like the one in the pictures I would have to pay for an upgrade. So I have to pay again to get the view I had already paid for.Room was small and not very clean.

Liked: The location is great
Disliked: Staff weren't great. We had requested an upgrade, and what we got was awful and for an extra 250 dollars...We were told there was a view we were looking out into a wall. I went down later and was changed to another room for the followed night. When I went down the next day after been told we got moved, we still had the old room assigned to us. Eventually we were giving a better room with a view. The hotel is in need of updating.
