Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Not worth the money

Liked: Quirky place with lots of history.
Disliked: Staff on the bar were extremely slow and we waited for ages to be served. The one lady who was serving on Saturday evening on the 14th, completely ignored us and walk straight past us without acknowledging us not just once but multiple times?! Then she carried on serving people who had joined the bar after us! Extremely rude and not good service at all!! The rooms were quirky and cool because it was an old historic building however our bed was broken on both sides of the wooden headboard and the divan part was split we noticed it as soon as we walked in the room. Surely something your housekeeping should notice too!? Definitely wasn’t worth the money we paid for the nights stay sadly. Also the hygiene strip for the toilet was left from the last people staying on the floor behind the toilet so goodness knows how long that had been there as I flushed ours away. Not happy at all.

Beautiful 15th century coaching inn,...

Liked: Wonderful old historic coaching Inn, location is bang in the centre close to cathedral and historic docks. A little 'tired' in public areas, but beatiful building, excellent value for money, friendly staff.
Disliked: The bar did not have any real ale, a real shame

Absolutely charming

Liked: Was lovely to stay somewhere with a lot of character & not just the bland, standard hotel chain. I arrived tired and late at night but the staff were incredibly helpful & welcoming. Stepping out of my room in the morning the view was so beautiful I took a photo (attached). Can definitely say I've never done that before!
Disliked: Will bring some ear plugs next time because the seagulls & pigeons were a bit noisy but that's not the hotels fault.

Quirky but not worth the...

Liked: It's really quirky. There isn't a level floor or plum wall in the place. The history is rich and the building tells a an interesting story
Disliked: The two gentlemen behind the bar were fab. The lady behind the bar was rude, lazy and arrogant. She would bang your drink on the bar, spill half of it or just ignore you. The drinks are incredibly expensive (£7 a pint) and they short the measurements. Every drink they pulled I'd have to ask them to fill the glass to get the pint I paid for. The shower was either scolding or freezing. No temperature control and poor pressure. Bed was awful too
