Great location, horrible beds and...

Liked: excellent location
Disliked: Not only wallpapers dirty and tattered, one of the two lamps did dot work, the window could not be closed properly, also all the mattrasses in the room were worn and old. They didn't store our suitcases and a child car seat on the last day.

Wonderful location and exciting to...

Liked: Fantastic to stay in such a historic building. Remarkably comfortable for a place nearly 600 years old.
Disliked: The bed was pretty old and not very comfortable.

Good price, comfortable but wifi...

Liked: Staff was really friendly and the rooms are quite big and good for the price. Location is great as well, walking distance to the train station and to the quay with nice places to eat.
Disliked: Depending on which room you stay, you might get a lot of noise from the pub below. Wifi was terrible, and I was at two different rooms. I had to change room as the plumbing on one wasn't working properly and there was no shower screen (only on one side, not a sliding one). Wifi was terrible at both rooms. That being said, the staff was great and moved me to another room with no problem.

We really enjoyed our stay...

Liked: The history surrounding the property was amazing. Quirky and just as we anticipated in a great location to explore Gloucester.
Disliked: The toast was brought out after we had finished breakfast. We were informed that there was a trainee chef beforehand.

I didn’t stay. I immediately...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: The staff ignored me when I tried to check. When I went to room is was disgusting, peeling paper, half painted woodwork, crumbling, rotten window frames, just dingy overall. I went back to reception/bar and when I finally got the attention of one of the staff after yet again being ignored, I handed my keys back and told them I couldn’t stay in that room. The response was sorry your not happy

The new inn is a...

Liked: We’ve stayed at the New the last few years and it has been great. Fab atmosphere, however this time since it’s been taken over we were very disappointed. 12 of us ate there on Saturday evening, little things like everyone’s food bar one had come out. That person had to wait a bit. Ask for extra tartare sauce, waitress said that would be extra. When what they provided was no where near enough. We ate breakfast there on Sunday, I don’t like filter coffee so ask for a latte. They said they don’t use that coffee machine as it’s too expensive. Also the people that did have the filter coffee it was cold. Was told they turn the machine off as it keeps pumping water through. You can’t offer cold coffee, poached eggs on toast were like bullets. Stated you get two slices of toast with the breakfast, only one got given. It seemed to us the staff were doing their best but were following rules. Unfortunately as a paying customer we weren’t happy with it at all.
Disliked: I know they’re in the process of doing it up, and we understand that. However our bed was sloping down hill, rooms very hot. No atmosphere in the bar on a Saturday night, where in the past it used to be to be packed. Always had kareoke not this time.
