Far too cold

Disliked: The hotel is far too cold. The heating wasn’t on in the building or breakfast room. It was in the room but Room 8 is cold

Disliked: Room smelt musty, only on pillow per person and bed was old and uncomfortable. Bathroom outdated and no doors on the wardrobe. Not sure why a £50 deposit was needed.

cleanliness not up to standard...

Liked: the management were very kind in sorting my issue but unfortunately the room wasnt up to standard as there was dust still in chandelier , rust on radiator in bathroom and wallpaper peeling off the wall.
Disliked: my stay at the mountford hotel was very poor the first room we got sent into had a foul cigarette smell while also being very unsanatory, having muddy dirt on the bed to the shower not being cleaned out properly, i then asked to be moved rooms.once moving rooms this romms smell was better but looking closely in terms of hygeine it was also not up to standard ,the room wasnt up to standard as there was dust still in chandelier , rust on radiator in bathroom and wallpaper peeling off the wall. I looked past this and thought well for a standard room for 40 pound you kind of get what youre given its just unfortunate because i would of hope the clealiness would of been up to a high standard.in terms of staff i was upset with particularly one. I dropped a drink by mistake as soon as i entered the room as i was in a hotel room that was on a stairwell i had ordered from the bar, that i was not allowed to recieve a free one and must buy a new one ! i was really appauled by this as i stated i did not even have time to drink the drink and i fell over by mistake.

Liked: The night porter was nice
Disliked: Old fashioned, bathroom door didn’t shut, poor quality food at breakfast. There is free parking but only if you’re there early enough.Maintenance issues, not least of which was being woken up at 5:30 by the rain pouring onto the window due to broken guttering. Complaint resulted in offer of 10% discount on a later stay…. Shan’t be using that!!!

An old world comfortable hotel.

Liked: Staff friendly and helpful. Love the hotel it has a real old world quaint feel about it. Modern bathroom with a good shower.Nice bar . Pick a time for breakfast which was continental. We would definitely return .
Disliked: Room was a bit pokey but for one night ideal. Only real criticism is breakfast coffee was disgusting. Real fresh ground coffee would make a vast difference.
