We stayed at your hotel...

Liked: The mattress was well used and could do with a new one. The wall next to the bed ( on the coffee table) could do with the plaster re-doing as very uneven and it spoils the look of the room. There was a cobweb across the wall above the coffee table. When we were having breakfast
Disliked: The bed in our cottage could do with a new mattress as it was well used and very soft and uncomfortable to sleep on.The wall on the side of the bed nearest the coffee table could do with re plastering as it was very uneven and spoilt the room. When we came out of our cottage to go for breakfast we were met with an awful stench as there was a lorry at the front of the main building emptying the cess pit,as we sat down to eat every time the front doors were opened the stench was wafting in and spoiling the meal

Room nothing like website photos

Liked: Great country location with fantastic views.Easy parking
Disliked: Generally dirty. Carpets with engrained dirt. Cobwebs. Show door not replaced but poor attempt with a curtain. Bathroom metal shelf not replaced. Stained bed sheets, itchy bed linen (soap or worse). Noisy next to kitchens.

Lovely relaxing stay at this...

Liked: Communal areas downstairs were lovely. Beautifully decorated, especially Dickens’ Bar area. Great staff- absolutely lovely. Very friendly accommodating and helpful (especially Dawn and Louise). It was my friends birthday smd they brought her a chocolate semi-Fred o with a candle in it! A very sweet gesture! I actually spontaneously hugged Dawn as she was so nice! Lovely lady at reception (whose name I didn’t catch) carried my friend’s vet heavy bag upstairs because there’s no lift. The food was incredible! We ate in the hotel the entire time and it was all delicious. The breakfast was superb - buffet continental and waiter-service full English, flawless. Wonderful service from Dawn each morning. Produce used was local and exceptionally high quality.
Disliked: I should mention that none of the below issues negatively impacted our stay, and we would definitely return! There were a few small maintenance issues - really squeaky bathroom extractor fan motor which sounded like an alarm; the window couldn’t be opened in bedroom (though could in bathroom); strong smell in corridor which was like fumes from an oil boiler. As an aside, some of the rooms didn’t look like those on the website at all, and there were a lot of rooms like ours, which looked out onto a large flat roof. The roof could be landscaped a bit to improve the views maybe? There was only one mug and glass in our twin room, but really helpful staff that brought more up immediately. Beds were not made on our second day, though towels were changed, which wasn’t actually a flaw, just unusual. We had a spa day at The Garage Spa adjacent to the hotel, which was lovely. Again there were a few maintenance issues which were being sorted by some men in work gear so there was a bit of banging and drilling! The Wi-Fi apparently kept dropping out, which mean there was either no relaxing music or it stopped and started. It was a very comfy and attractive little spa though and I had a lovely time and again, would return, though I would say that it’s quite expensive considering there’s no swimming pool unless you get a good offer which includes lunch - which we did!
